Over the course of May and June 2009, we're inviting young people and youth leaders from around the diocese to try to raise £50 for our upcoming Lumos weekend. Neil explains more:
'As lumos gets bigger and bigger in scale, the number of places that can house all of us (150 this time!) gets less and less. This means that we sometimes we have to pay more than we generally like to charge people in order to be able to run Lumos.'
For Lumos: imitate, we're looking for 50 people to raise £50 each in order for us to be able to still charge people £75 for the cost of the weekend. Groups from around the diocese are already getting involved, and we'll be featuring stories and clips from different fundraising endeavours over the coming months.
To help kick off our fundraising, Martin, who runs all the technology side of Lumos weekends is cycling the length of the Ridgeway track (from Swindon to near Dunstable) on the 26th June (note the revised date)! It's a mammoth distance (89 miles), and he hopes to be done in about 15 hours... you can read more about his efforts on www.justgiving.com/ridgeway5050 - where you can also sponsor Martin.
If you're keen to be involved to raise money, you can contact Neil here at the office on 01844 273337 or email him on neil@nymo.org
